Study environment
In August 2009 „LSC Marine training” Ltd. moved to new premises at 24D Ganību dambis.
The new location has many advantages – easy and quick access by car or public transport (bus, tram). The whole centre is conveniently located on one floor; premises are freshly redecorated, light, with high ceilings. The environment is pleasant and comfortable, it makes learning easier.
The new training centre accommodates:
- classrooms;
- all the necessary trainers:
- navigation trainer;
- radar trainer;
- GMDSS;
- engine room simulator;
- tanker cargo simulator;
- maritime library with a reading-room;
- the management of the company.
Students of the training centre are offered coffee and there is a good café on the first floor to have a meal at.

View from the street.

Convenient free parking is available both in front of the building and behind it.

In room No. 2 on the fifth floor, you will be welcomed by our training co-ordinator Baiba Rudzīte. She will help you identify the courses you might need to take and tell you when and where it can be done. Then she will enter your data into the computer, check available discounts and print out the invoice.

At the end of the hall there is a new navigation simulator. This “command bridge” has everything you would normally see on a modern vessel.

Next is a new radar and ECDIS simulator run by an experienced captain and teacher Nikolajs Koļesovs.

That’s our new GMDSS simulator. Teacher Dmitrijs Goreļikovs is in command here. He is also the one who takes care of all hardware and software of our training simulators.

Marine engineers have lots of problems in our engine room simulator – teacher and experienced marine engineer Vasīlijs Ļesovojs sees to it that there is a constant supply of them.

This is an oil and chemical tanker operation simulator. Each student works with two monitors at a time here, while the teacher has to deal with three.

We have one computer room and two more rooms equipped with video projectors and everything else needed for successful learning process.

Students and all interested persons can use the library and its cosy reading-room. The most interesting materials can be photocopied.

There is a coffee-machine in the hall. Here anyone can have a cup of coffee and make himself comfortable on the sofa for a bit of rest and recharge.
